During the storms earlier this year very large branch of an offside tree broke off reducing the canal width by half.

Pentland was used for the removal of the smaller branches during Friday 19th April work party. This Friday 26th April they went back armed with grappling hook, bow saw, rope and a lot of muscle to try and remove the largest part. Having successfully removed as much as possible on site, they attached a line to what was left and towed it back to the basin. These photos are of the early stages of the removal and the tow back.
